Dear Esteemed Colleagues, Fellow Neurologists, and Distinguished Delegates,

It is with great pleasure and heartfelt warmth that I welcome you to the Philippine Neurologic Association (PNA) 48th Annual Convention, to be held on November 25–28, 2026 at the EDSA Shangri-la, Manila.

This year, we gather around a theme that reflects both the remarkable possibilities and the profound responsibilities facing our profession: “AI in Neurology.” Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming the landscape of medicine. In neurology, it offers exciting opportunities—from enhancing diagnostic accuracy and supporting clinical decision-making to advancing research, improving patient care, and expanding access to neurological expertise. Yet, as we embrace these innovations, we must remain guided by the values at the heart of our profession: compassion, clinical wisdom, scientific integrity, and above all, our commitment to our patients.

Our annual convention is more than an academic gathering. It is a celebration of our shared journey as neurologists and of the enduring spirit of collegiality that makes our PNA community truly special. It is an opportunity to exchange knowledge, learn from one another, welcome new ideas, strengthen friendships, and inspire the next generation of neurological leaders. I invite each of you to actively participate in the scientific discussions, engage in meaningful conversations, and explore how AI can be thoughtfully and responsibly integrated into neurological practice. Let us approach this new frontier not with apprehension, but with curiosity, discernment, and a clear vision of the kind of healthcare we aspire to provide. The Annual Convention Organizing Committee has meticulously prepared novel social and academic activities. Aside from the annual PNA Research Contest, we will hold the "Synapticup" - the PNA National Neurology Quiz Show which we hope will promote camaraderie between our trainees and future fellows. There will be free teaching courses on the first day as well. Take this time also to meet with your committees, councils, chapter members and board. Our anticipated Annual Fellowship Night will not be outdone, with the promise of experiencing a night of music through the talents and creativity of our PNA fellows as they perform in “The PNA Battle of the Bands”.
